What are private nameservers?
Private nameservers allow you to use your own domain as the nameservers instead of ours. This is useful if you are trying to hide who your provider is. For example, our nameservers which you would need to supply to your customer are as follows
cdns1.tech-hosts-dns.com
cdns2.tech-hosts-dns.com
These tell your customer that your host is If you wish, we can setup your own nameservers so you can use your own such as
ns1.yourdomain.com
ns2.yourdomain.com
This looks more professional to the end user, who see that you are their provider rather than us.
What are the drawbacks?
Tech-Hosts uses a clustered DNS system, meaning if one of our servers goes offline, your DNS still works. If you have your own custom nameservers you will not get this clustered functionality
Another drawback is if your domain isn't hosted with us, you'll need to set and maintain the NS records at your registrar, if you want to use custom nameservers, we strongly recommend you register the domain with us to keep everything easy to manage
